The Three Branches Institute (3BI) is an immersive in-person professional development for educators that examines the people, events, and processes that shape the three branches of government in the United States. Each day will consist of building tours, guest speakers from scholars in the field, and structured time for educators to share their experiences and ideas for classroom implementation.
The Three Branches Institute is hosted jointly by the White House Historical Association, United States Capitol Historical Society, and the Supreme Court Historical Society. Since 2021, 3BI has been virtual. For this inaugural in-person event, each organization will lead one day of educator professional development in their respective branch’s space. Educators who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate for professional development hours.
