In partnership with the Irish American Judicial Institute, join guest lecturer Sean Meehan for a lively discussion on his new book, The Emerald Bench: The History of the Irish American Justices on the Supreme Court. From the Supreme Court’s first session in 1790 to today, Irish Americans have maintained a near-constant presence on the Supreme Court bench, shaping the law and the course of American history. Meehan examines the lives and careers of all twenty-five Irish American justices, with an emphasis on their family history from Ireland to the United States. Reception to follow with Sean Meehan in the East Conference Room.
This is a ticketed event and space is limited. The ticket includes the purchase of the book.
